Marcus Lam-Peters

Lead Strength & Conditioning Coach

IMG_0043.jpeg

My name is Marcus Lam-Peters and I am very excited to be joining the #IHDfam. Sports and athletics have been a big part of my life for a long time. I enjoyed a playing career in which I competed in multitude of sports these experiences provided me the opportunity, first hand to understand sports training.

At my peak, I had the opportunity to compete nationally as a 100m sprinter and in university I played football as a member of the Bishop's Gaiters. When my playing career was over, I moved to Lloydminster. I began coaching football at Holy Rosary and decided to become a personal trainer so I could train some of the team in the offseason. Seven years later I have been able to work with athletes in a number of different sports (baseball, basketball, boxing, football, hockey and soccer). Combined with my playing experience I have learned a lot about the type of training and support athletes need to become successful.

I have taken many courses to help me become a better coach. The most noteworthy of them being: I graduated from Bishop's University majoring in Sports Studies, I am certified by CanFitPro as Personal Training Specialist and I am currently working on attaining my CSCS from the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

The players I am being entrusted with are getting a motivated and dedicated trainer. I will prioritize their development as athletes. I am looking forward to this new chapter with IHD!
